중국 베이징의 새천년종 (The Millennium Bell in Beijing)

(The China Century Bell) 

 

중국 북경의 장안로 군사박물관과 CCTV사이에 새천년 (2000년, New Millennium)을 기념하는 각종 상징물들을 설차한 기념공원이 있다. 이름하여 the China Millennium Monument가 그것이다. 이 기념물은 성화광장, 동으로 된 회랑, 해시계, 센츄리홀, 예술회관 )Square of Holy Fire, the Bronze Corridor, the main sundial structure, the Century Hall, and the Hall of Art, etc.) 등으로 구성되어 있다.

이곳에 역시 새천년을 기념하는 종, 중화세기종 (The China Century Bell)이 동쪽에 설치되어 있다.

높이 6.8m, 직경 3.38m, 무게 50톤, 종중의 왕이라 부른다.
